This article also takes steps in this promising direction. It examines a technique commonly used to model the behavior of an important kind of system: a Brownian particle that has been introduced to an isolated fluid at equilibrium. It also accounts for the success of the model, by identifying and grounding the technique's key assumptions. 2016-07-01T07:00:00Z text application/pdf https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/soss_research/3601 info:doi/10.1086/685744 https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/context/soss_research/article/4859/viewcontent/Preprint_On_How_to_Approach_the_Approach_to_Equilibrium_Website.pdf http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ Research Collection School of Social Sciences eng Institutional Knowledge at Singapore Management University Philosophy Philosophy of Science
