Structural and physical properties of (1-x)Bi(Zn 1/2Ti 1/ 2)O3-xBa(Fe 1/2Nb 1/2)O3 solid solution
Lead-free piezoelectric (1-x)Bi(Zn1/2Ti1/2)O 3-xBa(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 ceramics were synthesized via solid-state reaction technique for x = 0.6, 0.7, 0.8 and 0.9. The phase formations and microstructures of the sintered ceramics were analyzed by XRD technique and SEM. The pure perovskite phase was obtaine...

Summary: | Lead-free piezoelectric (1-x)Bi(Zn1/2Ti1/2)O 3-xBa(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 ceramics were synthesized via solid-state reaction technique for x = 0.6, 0.7, 0.8 and 0.9. The phase formations and microstructures of the sintered ceramics were analyzed by XRD technique and SEM. The pure perovskite phase was obtained for all compositions sintered at 1000°C with x higher than 0.7. The structure changes to the cubic phase with increasing BFN content. The lattice parameters and crystal sizes of the ceramics increased with increasing amount of BFN. The density of the ceramics tends to decrease with increasing amounts of BFN.
