Summary:This independent study aimed to study the guidelines for the secondary school library administration under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 36 (Chiangrai-Phayao) in preparation for the ASEAN community. This was the survey research which the data was collected by the questionnaire. The population of this study consisted of the administrators and the librarians of secondary schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 36 (Chiangrai-Phayao). The data was analyzed by the Descriptive Statistic; Percentage, Mean, and Standard Deviation. The results found that the administrators generally extremely thought that there should be the preparation for the Asean community by the school library management (μ=4.66). The most supporting aspect was the personnel preparation by training the school librarian and letting them study how to prepare the library for the ASEAN. The next aspect was the information resources by supporting the library to purchase some Asean information resources. For the service and the activity, the administrators gave opinion that there should be the librarians’ support to service and prepare the Asean knowledgeable activities. For the environment, they thought that there should be the using area and the enough service in the school library. And for the budget, there should respectively be the direction and the follow-up for the expense and the budget’s evaluation in every academic year. For the librarians, they extremely had the same opinion about the way to manage the school library in preparation for the Asean community (μ=4.08). The most supported aspect was the personnel preparation. They suggested that there should be the study for library preparation for Asean community. The next aspect was the environment, they suggested that there should be the Asean corner in the library. For the information resource, they suggested that there should be the Asean electronic books. For the service and the activity, there should be the exhibition, the display boards, or the Asean advertised boards. For the budget, the librarians suggested that there should be budget for buying the information resource and making the knowledge activity about Asean, respectively.
