Hydrothermal synthesis and characterization of Ho doped Bi<inf>2</inf>MoO<inf>6</inf> nanoplates and their optical properties

0-3 % Ho doped Bi 2 MoO 6 samples were synthesized by hydrothermal reaction at 180 °C for 20 h. Their phase, morphologies, atomic vibration and optical properties were characterized by Xray powder diffraction (XRD), Raman spectrophotometry, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning e...

Description
Summary:0-3 % Ho doped Bi 2 MoO 6 samples were synthesized by hydrothermal reaction at 180 °C for 20 h. Their phase, morphologies, atomic vibration and optical properties were characterized by Xray powder diffraction (XRD), Raman spectrophotometry, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED) and UV-visible spectroscopy. In this research, the products were orthorhombic Bi 2 MoO 6 nanoplates with asymmetric and symmetric stretching and bending modes of MoO6 octahedrons, and their strong absorption in the UV visible region. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
