Summary: | ‘Poy Sang Long’ at Wat Pa Pao (Pa Pao’s Temple) in Chaing Maicity is a mighty ordinate tradition of Shan people which is called “Tai Yai”. The tradition encourages many tourism and shan people from everywhere to be participated ay Wat Pa Pao by strong collaboration between temple committee, inhabitants, local authority and any other volunteer. This research study about their historical and social background to learn the relationship between Shan people who live in the northern of the country and ‘Poy Sang Long’ tradition at Wat Pa Pao in order to find out the way to be successful in actualize this traditional ritual and also being a role for operating other events. The author found that Wat Pa Pao is an ancient temple that has been relate to Shan people so far. Moreover, this temple is thevenue to actualize ‘Poy Sang Long’ every year. For over two decades, Shan people, the worker in town and about around, is likely to attend the tradition. So, the event becomes bigger, have been very well actual and being annual festival for shan people since then. The research also found the definite management in organization as everyone know their own duty. A clear command isassigned to Shan people and local authority, temple committee. Hence, the event can run proper, harmonious, and conscience. |
