The purpose of this study was to model and forecast liver cancer mortality rate in Thailand using death certificate reports. A retrospective analysis of the liver cancer mortality rate was conducted. Numbering of 123,280 liver cancer causes of death cases were obtained from the national vital registration database for the 10-year period from 2000 to 2009, provided by the Ministry of Interior and coded as cause-of-death using ICD-10 by the Ministry of Public Health. Multivariate regression model was used for modeling and forecasting age-specific liver cancer mortality rates in Thailand. Liver cancer mortality increased with increasing age for each sex and was also higher in the North East provinces. The trends of liver cancer mortality remained stable in most age groups with increases during ten-year period (2000 to 2009) in the Northern and Southern. Liver cancer mortality was higher in males and increase with increasing age. There is need of liver cancer control measures to remain on a sustained and long-term basis for the high liver cancer burden rate of Thailand. © 2013 AIP Publishing LLC. 2018-04-25T08:40:46Z 2018-04-25T08:40:46Z 2013-11-11 Conference Proceeding 15517616 0094243X 2-s2.0-84887059857 10.1063/1.4823955 https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?partnerID=HzOxMe3b&scp=84887059857&origin=inward http://cmuir.cmu.ac.th/jspui/handle/6653943832/47501
