Description
Summary:A simple and rapid method for the conversion of organic halides into carbonyl derivatives is developed via microwave-assisted oxidation with N-methylmorpholine N-oxide in an ionic liquid. A variety of halide substrates are oxidized to the corresponding products in good to excellent yields in short reaction times. The ionic liquid is recovered and reused in several reaction cycles without any significant loss in activity. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
