The sintered ceramics were investigated in terms of pore characteristics, phase formation, and in vitro bioactivity. The pore sizes of the structures were observed by SEM to be in the range of 150-400 μm. XRD results revealed that calcium phosphate and sodium phosphate phases were formed in the porous ceramics. In vitro bioactivity was assessed in SBF solution and the results confirm the formation of apatite like cells on the surface of all glass ceramic compositions.
