Pulveroboletus fragrans, a new bolete species with a strong aromatic odor, was found in forests dominated by Castanopsis and Lithocarpus (Fagaceae) in Northern Thailand. The species is introduced with macroscopic and microscopic descriptions and illustrations, as well as a three-gene phylogenetic analysis that confirms its position within the Pulveroboletus clade of Boletaceae. Pulveroboletus fragrans can be easily distinguished from all other Pulveroboletus species by its strong aromatic odor, the violaceous to purple color of the uppermost part of the stipe, and viscid general veil covering the pileus and stipe. The nature of the general veil is discussed. 2018-09-05T02:51:07Z 2018-09-05T02:51:07Z 2016-04-01 Journal 18618952 1617416X 2-s2.0-84961254873 10.1007/s11557-016-1179-7 https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?partnerID=HzOxMe3b&scp=84961254873&origin=inward http://cmuir.cmu.ac.th/jspui/handle/6653943832/55029
