Description
Summary:© 2016 The Authors. This paper presents the comparison of back-flashover rate (BFR) by applying the CIGRE method and the IEEE-Flash software. The BFR on 230 kV single and double circuits transmission lines have been compared. Firstly, the BFR from the two iterative methods, CIGRE and the simplified methods, have been compared then the BFR using CIGRE method has been chosen in order to compare the results with the IEEE-Flash software. The IEEE-Flash software gives the BFR significantly higher than the CIGRE method for 230 kV double circuits but not for the single circuit.
