Description
Summary:© 2018, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc. All rights reserved. This study examinessocio-demographic characteristics, debt behaviors and determinants of household debt burden in four regions of Thailand by using cross-sectional data from the 2015 household socio-economic survey (SES).We find that most of indebted households in Thailand are from the entrepreneurs for non-agricultural business class or the farm operator who mainly owning land (including marine culture) class, have only formal loans and borrow for household consumption. According to quantile regression analysis, having informal loans and having financial problem have positive effect on household debt burden while age of household head and the number of working members in household have negative effect on household debt burden.
