Utilization of hydrated sodium calcium aluminosilicate and vermiculite for aflatoxin b<inf>1</inf> adsorption in pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) diets
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the hydrated sodium calcium aluminosilicate (HSCAS) and vermiculite minerals as binder when added to pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) diets contaminated with aflatoxin Bt. Four treatments consisting balanced diets were as follows: diet...

Four treatments consisting balanced diets were as follows: diet 1 as control diet - free of the toxin and without a binder, diet 2 containing 1 % HSCAS and 500 ppb aflatoxin Blt diet containing 1% vermiculite and 500 ppb aflatoxin B, and diet 4 containing 500 ppb aflatoxin B1 without a binder. It was observed that the average daily gain, feed conversion efficiency, protein efficiency ratio, survival rate and aflatoxin B1 residue in tissues were superior in shrimps fed diet 2 and diet 3 compared to that of diet 4 (P<0.05), but the diet 1 was the best. It is concluded that HSCAS and vermiculite were capable of binding some part of the aflatoxin B1 in the diet of shrimp. © GSP, India. 2018-09-11T08:54:02Z 2018-09-11T08:54:02Z 2006-01-01 Journal 09741844 09712119 2-s2.0-33751065097 10.1080/09712119.2006.9706587 https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?partnerID=HzOxMe3b&scp=33751065097&origin=inward http://cmuir.cmu.ac.th/jspui/handle/6653943832/61487 |
