Description
Summary:© 2018 IEEE. This paper presents a framework by adapting theories and methodologies of lean to the information technology (IT) paradigm. An objective is to identify and analyze influential factors to deploy lean IT in the circumstance. Seven information technology wastes are defined from previous researches. This research framework comprises five steps mainly followed processes of the action research cycle to capture and diminish appeared wastes. Preliminary data are recorded by interviewing and reviewing operational manuals. IDEF family is selected to capture activities and explore the relationship between components. A focus group in a cross-level and cross-functional is employed to discuss a root cause. A Necessary Condition Analysis is adopted to find out a lean obstacle degree in a case study. Developed lean tools are presented to eliminate critical wastes. Results of the action evaluation stage are led to some modifications to lean IT tools modification.
