From the measured intensities of various absorption bands of these glasses, Judd-Ofelt parameters, Ωλ, have been evaluated. The bonding environment surrounding the rare earth ion has also been discussed. With the help of Ωλ parameters and luminescence data for various emission lines, radiative properties for different emission lines have been calculated and discussed.
