Description
Summary:Water loss management by the internal pressure control of water pipe was developed as a model to simulate the behavior of internal pressure in pipes for the future approach of water loss management. The objective was to study and collecting data on water loss from pipe damage, analyze the model for sequencing an acceptance value for water pipe’s internal pressure to suggest an approach on preventive improvement or avoiding water pipe damage by using preventive measures with installations of DMAs (Dristric Metering Area) system to match water distribution by corresponding with true water requirement for each time period, or decommissioning ruined water pipe from the system. However, water loss criteria should refer to economical viewpoint, which is the point that the cost of water loss came across the cost of NRW management which is the point of lowest cost. Three operation steps was set; (1) Study and data collection (2) Model construction for analyzing and identifying 78 pipe leak points (3) research conclusion and suggestion. The research result found out that pressure simulation on the time period between 0.00 – 06.00 am would reveal order of importance of 7 routes of pipes within an acceptable pressure value with 4 detailed solutions, including pressure manipulation by using control pump, pressure manipulation by control valve reduction, pressure manipulation by pressure reducing valve installations, pressure manipulation by pipeline update attached with cost evaluation list for guiding interested parties to apply this study to correspond with the management of non-revenue water, human, time, and limited cost.
