Summary: | This independent study presents the Scrum Product Backlog Structure Using Analytic Hierarchy Process. The purposes of this work are to study the scrum product backlog structure using analytic hierarchy process and also to develop a software tool for creating hierarchy structure which can be applied to such a various software development projects in order to facilitate a software developer who has distressed experience (less than five years). This software represents an effect from software’s change request in the development life circle, support the development team to analyses all useful data in the hierarchy structure, as well as create essential reports for scrum activities.
In this work, users who considered for using the developed software tool can be classified into four groups based on their roles and ability to access data. User’s groups are including product owner, scrum master, development team and stakeholder. Product owner and scrum master can align software requirement to be groups and hierarchy structure. As a result, the software tool can render a tree diagram from the hierarchical structure to visualize the entire software requirements in either product or sprint. The tree diagram can also be the representation which comparing between value of requirement or value of cost and a selected backlog item on the same hierarchical structure level in order to support the prioritization. With this software tool, a development team member can select a task from the screen in which they want to work on. The selected task would be related to the code revision automatically.
Moreover, the code revision that has been committed can be shown side by side with the previous revision that rich of flexibility, traceability and easily to verify. In addition, product owner and scrum master are able to draw a diagram by using a built-in drawing tool, file attachment tool, and tag also comments for improve work collaboration. The software tool can display tracking item and task traceability reports by using hierarchy data, diagrams and attached files. The traceability reports can be displayed within a single-page to be viewed easily and give more perception.
The study results are that people who participate to the software development project can easily understanding in software requirements through the hierarchical structure and its reporting. Software development team members get more benefits and more convenience with the automatically code commissions as they can look back and forward between a task and related code. |
