Summary: | The independent study titled “Acceptance Level towards e-Auction System of Procurement Officers, Chiang Mai University” aimed at analyzing 1) factors related to and affecting the level of acceptance towards the e-Auction system; 2) the level of acceptance towards the operation of the e-Auction system; and 3) problems, suggestions, and guidelines for improving the e-Auction system.
The researcher collected data from the samples, who were 73 procurement officers from 17 faculties in Chiang Mai University by using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM).
The results revealed as follows: 1) The factor affecting awareness of benefits was at the highest level, especially awareness of benefits on the operation which reduced the implementation period and budget for procurement management. 2) The factor affecting awareness of convenience of use was at the highest level of satisfaction. Most of the questionnaire respondents were satisfied with the e-Auction system which facilitated on date and time when offering a price through the electronic system and the results of the auction from the central market were received. 3) Factors affecting attitudes and intention behaviours were at high levels of satisfaction, especially the factor about satisfaction on the operation which were explicit to the public and the acceptance towards procurement through the e-auction system. In terms of problems, there were too many procedures and related laws and regulations for procurement through the electronic system. As a result, the procurement officers felt uncomfortable using it. |
