Description
Summary:The purpose of this study is to perform screening the volunteers who drink alcohol using the infrared thermal camera. In this study, the infrared thermal camera was used to measure the face temperature of 25 volunteers in Chiang Mai province before and after drinking alcoholic beverage of 330 and 660 mL (5% alcohol). The face temperature measurement was performed at a fixed distance of 1 meter with an accurate temperature measurement of 97% . It was found that the temperature of the individuals face was increased with on increasing the amount of alcohol. The average difference between their face temperatures before and after drinking alcoholic beverage of 330 and 660 mL was found to be 1.0 oC and 1.5 oC ,respectively. This work indicated that thermal imaging technique can be used together with other measurement techniques such as breathalyzer to identify person who drinks alcohol.
