Summary: | Numbers of personswith alcohol induced psychotic disorder (PAP) are increased and needs to care for. This study aimed to test the effectiveness of implementing the self-control program among PAP, Suanprung Psychiatric Hospital, Chiang Mai Province on drinking behavior and re-admission rate. Thirty PAP and 4 health care providers were in the study following the inclusion criteria of each. The instruments used were Demographic data from, the Alcohol Used Identification Test (AUDIT), Satisfaction form of PAP and health care providers. Descriptive data analysis was used in this study.
The results of this study were
1. Drinking behaviors of PAP who received the self-control program were decreased from dependence to low risk drinking (46.6%), hazardous drinking (26.7%), harmful drinking (6.6%), and still dependence (10.0%)
2. Re-admission rate after 28 days of discharge of PAP who received the self-control program was 10.00 percent.
3. PAP’s satisfaction were most satisfaction on all dimensions (80-100%)
4. Health care providers of PAP’s satisfaction were most satisfaction on all dimensions (100%)
The results of this study presented the effectiveness of implementing the self-control program among PAP, Suanprung Psychiatric Hospital, Chiang Mai Province on drinking behavior and re-admission rate. Therefore this program should be used to help and care for PAP in health system. |
