Summary: | This research aims to design and develop Fiber Optic Layout System using Geographic Information System for Chiang Mai University. The system of fiber optic data network management will help users in giving clearly an overview of fiber optic networks and status. The data used for this study is fiber optic network equipment in the Chiang Mai University.
To develop Fiber Optic Layout System using Geographic Information System for Chiang Mai University, PHP and SQL were used as a development languages for creating the users interface and connect with the database. The system stores information in database and connects to Google Maps and using dijkstra’s algorithm as well as calculating the shortest route which develop the application of GIS in data storage, network equipment and fiber optic. The details of fiber optic usages show traffic data analysis of 5 individual nodes that are Information Technology Service Center, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Medicine and Mae Hia Agricultural Research, Demonstrative and Training Center.
The results of this study show that system can build connecting route of optic fiber as a reflection on Google Map. It can also display the status of fiber optic usage together with core network as well as calculating the shortest route for new node for connecting to main node shown on the Google Map. |
