Description
Summary:The purpose of this thesis is to study the development of Human Life from the viewpoint of Sustainable Agriculture Groups in Chiang Mai. The research focuses on I. Human Life, II. Lifestyle and III. The process humans apply to reach the objectives of natural living. The methods of the study are in-depth interviews and observing and participating with five representatives from Sustainable Agriculture Groups in Chiang Mai. The results reveal that in the viewpoint of Sustainable Agriculture Groups, Human Life comprises of body and mind. The combination of body and mind are related and cannot be separated. However, some groups think differently, to them body and mind are separated definitely. Lifestyle relating to nature and a sustainable way of life connect human beings to mental and spiritual freedom ie humans can live as they want. The process of development for Human Life is applied to achieve the life objectives and is comprised of five basic steps : Step 1. Study to understand oneself ; Step 2. Study the surroundings ; Step 3. Act ; Step 4. Evaluate the result and solve the problems step by step ; Step 5. Pass on knowledge. Self development can be divided into three parts : 1) physical development, which begins with understanding oneself and the development of life with basic needs, 2) mental development, that is not hurting oneself and others, and 3) intellectual development, it is to practice, realize and gain the knowledge in real life, which leads to attainment of peace of mind.
