Description
Summary:The purposes of this research were to experimentally model and test the efficiency of the dry-method palm oil extraction machine using a hydraulic system with a press cage sized 2.5 tons, a 3.3 tons pressure pump and a 3,730 kilowatts motor. The study was conducted to compress 3 different oil palms to produce 40 kilograms of oils per hour with a semi-automatic sludge removal system. The press cage was used when processing oil palms with the releasing holes of 0.125, 0.167 and 0.208 percent per surface area. The findings showed that the oil releasing holes affected the pressure force and the pressure difference of oil palm compressing. The 0.208 percent of oil releasing hole produced 759.37, 714.70 and 647.70 kilonewtons of pressure of Pisifera, Dura and Tenera oil palms while the pressure differences were 15,144.82, 13,946.31 and 11,658.24 kilopascals respectively. The production of Tenera was the highest quantity generating 350 millimeters when applying 647.70 kilonewtons of pressing force and 11,658.24 kilopascals of pressure difference. In conclusion, the surface area of the oil releasing holes affected the production of oil and the pressure of oil palms pressing. Larger surface area of the oil releasing holes was directly variation with higher oil production while the compressing pressure was lower.
