Summary: | Happiness is an emotion that changes according to the social context with other related
dimensions. During the years of 1958-1972, which was considered the golden age of Thai society
development, Thailand was under the economic influence directed by the development concept,
including the context of the Cold War. Thai society has been dominated by the United States.
Therefore, the Government has an important role in clarifying happiness in order to respond to
economic and social structures efficiently.
The meaning of happiness is not determined only from the above paragraph. It is found that
people in society are also involved in defining the meaning of happiness as well, frequently in
magazines, journals, and other publications. For this reason, happiness in the development age has
been defined in a more sophisticated approach, perception and understanding than the past. It can be
clearly seen from the differences among "an immediate happiness" and "a delay happiness", as well
as the emphasis on body and mind. All these values flow in the direction of the socio-economic
context. However, happiness in Thai society during the development age was not always consistent
with its current era. Happiness is still a controversial topic. Although it is viewed as lust, it appears as
there is a compromise like solitude. From this study, it is certain that happiness is another dimension
of development and interaction in social contexts. |
