A Decision Support System of Adaptive Area Information Model for Integrated Resource Management and Community Policy

This research proposed a decision support system for Muang-Fai irrigation system, a traditional irrigation system of northern Thailand. The proposed system consists of four parts, (1) the customize land use and farming map receive the farming area and crop types data from farmers and weir control...

Prof. Chuchoke Aryupong This research proposed a decision support system for Muang-Fai irrigation system, a traditional irrigation system of northern Thailand. The proposed system consists of four parts, (1) the customize land use and farming map receive the farming area and crop types data from farmers and weir controllers, transferring to farming areas, (2) the wireless sensor networks telemetry station against flash flood situation, named Mix-Key, (3) the modular framework of river weir operations for water resource management systems, simulating the discharge flowing through sluice gates, called LIλT, and (4) Appropriate Weir Adjustment with Water Requirement Deliberation (AWARD) decision support system which provides sluice gates level and sluice gates setting period for weir controllers. The customize land use and the farming map is already filled and continuously updated from farmers and weir controllers. The telemetry stations, Mix-Key, work on monitoring the water level against flooding events since 2012 with auto adaptive data transmission rate. The LIλT simulation model is applied and actually used by weir controllers. The LIλT provides the accurate sluice gates level according to water requirement. The average satisfying score by LIλT users is 4.11 from 5.00, means satisfying. The results of AWARD system is divided into three sections, the water level prediction, the sluice gates setting period estimation, and the sluice gates level calculation. The AWARD system provides the sluice level with acceptable accuracy, MAPE 4.38%, and the practical sluice gates adjustment recommendation for the weir controllers.
