Manuscripts in most areas of science are welcomed except in areas such as agriculture, engineering and medical science which are outside the scope of the Journal. Currently, we focus on manuscripts in biology, chemistry, physics, materials science and environmental science. Papers in mathematics statistics and computer science are also included but should be of an applied nature rather than purely theoretical. Manuscripts describing experiments on humans or animals are required to provide proof that all experiments have been carried out according to the ethical regulations of the respective institutional and/or governmental authorities and this should be clearly stated in the manuscript itself. The Editor reserves the right to reject manuscripts that fail to do so. Fe-doped CuBO2 delafossite oxides were synthesized using a conventional solid-state reaction method. The influence of the Fe concentration (0–3%) on its microstructural, optical and magnetic properties was investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis results revealed the delafossite structure in all the samples. Lattice spacing of CuB1-xFexO2 samples increased with Fe concentration. Optical properties measured at room temperature by UVvisible spectroscopy showed a weak absorption in the visible light and near IR regions. The corresponding direct optical band gap was about 3.01 eV. Magnetic hysteresis curve measurements showed that the Fe-doped CuBO2 samples exhibited ferromagnetic behavior at room temperature. The magnetization of this CuB1-xFexO2 delafossite greatly increased with the Fe content. This indicated that the combined influence of the number of B3+−Fe3+ pairs and long-range interaction of B3+−Fe3+ coupling produced a mixed effect on the magnetic properties of CuBO2 delafossite oxide. The Curie temperature suggests that ferromagnetism originates from CuB1-xFexO2 matrices. 2020-10-08T08:36:16Z 2020-10-08T08:36:16Z 2020 Chiang Mai Journal of Science 47,4 (Special Issue II : July 2020), p.665-672 2465-3845 https://epg.science.cmu.ac.th/ejournal/dl.php?journal_id=11096 http://cmuir.cmu.ac.th/jspui/handle/6653943832/69879 Eng Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University
