Description
Summary:© 2020 Elsevier GmbH Heterostructure Pd/Bi2MoO6nanocomposites as visible-light-driven photocatalyst for rhodamine B (RhB) degradation with different weight of Pd have been successfully synthesized by sonochemical-assisted deposition method. The phase, morphologies and atomic oxidation state of as-synthesized heterostructure Pd/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposites with different weight of Pd samples were characterized by several agnatical techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), respectively. The XRD pattern of pure Bi2MoO6 samples shown a pure phase orthorhombic Bi2MoO6 structure. After loading Pd, it found the new diffraction peak which can be indexed to cubic Pd structure, indicating that the formation of heterostructure Pd/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposites. SEM and TEM images of heterostructure Pd/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposites show a good disperse randomly of spherical Pd nanoparticles with particle size range of 8−12 nm were covered on the surface of Bi2MoO6 nanoplates. Photocatalytic activities of the pure Bi2MoO6 sample and heterostructure Pd/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposites have been observed that heterostructure 5% Pd/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposites showed the highest visible-driven photocatalytic activity of 97.76 % for RhB degradation within 150 min while the pure Bi2MoO6 sample is 36.93 % for RhB degradation at same condition.
