Summary: | From August 8 to November 27, 1971, an epidemiologic study on acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis in Thailand was carried out. The outbreak being prevalent between September and November with the highest incidence in October and affected most of the provinces in Central and Southern Thailand. All ages and both sexes were affected. There were 4,157 patients recorded from 37 schools in Bangkok Metropolis. Most of them were between 6 and 15 yr old. The period of school absence was approximately 7 days. No serious complication was reported. |
