A novel one-pot synthesis of derivatives of aryldioxins and aryldithiins
One-pot reactions between ortho-dihydroxyarenes with 1,2-diols or dithiols in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid yielded the corresponding dioxins or dithiins in good to excellent yields. © 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
