This study assessed the nutrient contents from nutrition labels and categorized commercially packaged snacks by health star rating (HSR) system. Results show that nuts and seeds group has the highest total energy (kcal) and meat based group has the lowest total energy. In the HSR system, among all 7 groups of snacks, 21.1% of nuts and seeds products have 5 stars but 78.7% of meat-based snacks have only 0.5 stars.
