Therefore, This paper describes the experimental investigations conducted on a parked car equipped with a solar-powered ventilation system, as well as highlights and clarifies its impacts on climate control, energy consumption, and tailpipe emissions of a conventional gasoline engine operating at idle. Since this experiment was applied in two stages; the first stage was without solar ventilation and the findings showed that the highest interior cabin temperature was 65.5 °C and the average daily difference in temperature was 19.2 °C. The second stage with solar ventilation and the findings showed that the highest interior cabin temperature was 48.5 °C and the average daily difference in temperature was 8.5 °C. On the other hand the experimental results referring to fuel consumptions and CO2 emissions showed that due to using of the solar ventilation system the reduction in fuel consumption by 38% and the CO2 emissions reduction by 36%. 2023-08-28T18:01:46Z 2023-08-28T18:01:46Z 2023-01-01 Article International Journal on Energy Conversion Vol.11 No.2 (2023) , 45-55 10.15866/irecon.v11i2.23410 25332910 22815295 2-s2.0-85167917438 https://repository.li.mahidol.ac.th/handle/123456789/88848 SCOPUS |
