Summary:The purpose of this research was to investigate the level of fear and factors affecting the level of fear among people living in Bangkok's communities classified by demographic factors and examine the casual model of fear of crime. This research employed quantitative method by distributing questionnaires to 960 participants who had been living in Bangkok's communities during the time of the research. Research participants were selected by random sampling in Bangkok Metropolitan area that divided into the Inner Bangkok consisted of Yan Nawa District, and Urban Fringe, namely, Lad Prao, and Bang Bon District of Suburban. The findings found that: 1) fear of crime among people in Bangkok's communities was at a low level, whereas 2) the samples had different fear of crime depending on gender, age, type of residence and income, and 3) gender, perceived social disorganization and experience being crime victim indirectly impacted fear of crimes through perceived risk of victimization, satisfaction on the police crime prevention and people participation in community crime prevention. Moreover, gender and experience being crime victim is also factors effecting fear of crime indirectly. The research findings are beneficial for the concerned agencies such as the Royal Thai Police, Bangkok Community Development Office as the primary date to promote preventive measures on crime occurrence in the community and further direct on how to reduce fear of crime among the people living in Bangkok's communities
