Description
Summary:This study was done to design and develop a Web-based Application for Publication Distribution System (PDS) for a case organization, the Network of Aquaculture Centers in Asia-Pacific (NACA). Subscription data from the present system was gathered by collecting subscriber application form. The data were analyzed by structure analysis and used to design the Publication Distribution System (PDS). PDS application was developed using Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0 as operating system, Microsoft Access 2000 as database management system (DBMS), Internet Information Server 4.0 (IIS 4) as web server, Active Server Pages (ASP) as server-side scripting and ABMailer as e-mail generating program. The application was composed of 2 sections, the subscriber/buyer section and the administrator section. Interested persons and administrators could either subscribe or maintain subscription data via the World Wide Web (WWW). From the evaluation of results, the PDS received fairly good feedback. It was found that users were satisfied with the convenience of the program. It was convenient to maintain and to use. It was fairly easy to use for subscription, invoice generation and report generation.
