Summary: | This study targets directly to social outcomes instead of academic results. It has two goals: to develop and maintain the portal website of the TRF's academic research division and to
maintain Researchers.in.th. the online community of Thai researchers. Enterprise-class open-source computer programs that are researched and deweloped with grants from the Thailand
Research Funds by the researchers, namely UsablePortal and KnowledgeVolution, are used to completed these objectives. This demonstrates the efficiency of the software and the readiness of
the software for general uses. The portal website of the TRP's academic research division aims to present unified and updated information and allow stakeholders to communicate better with the division. The website is built and hosted on Portal.In.th, a web service system that provides portal website creation and management. Portall.in.th is operated using UsablePortal, an entorprise-class opn-source software for portal website management, Its major foatures include pages and sub-pages creation, file cabinet, site theme customization, news and activities announc ament, and podcast generation. The user interface of UsablePortal is designed toward general computer users to allow them managing a relatively complex portal website without a help from teechnical staff. UsablePortal is particularly tailored to the needs of small and medium organizations in Thailland. Under this grant, not only the TRF website is developed but also the online community of Thai researchers is maintained. Researchers.in.th is an online collaborative workspace of That researchers trom diverse disciptines. More than two years, the online co community website has been effectively operated using KnowlegeVolution, Thailand's the first open-source web-based enterprise knowledge management system that is also developed by this team of researchers B under a former grant from TRE. Blogs and social media features in Researchers.in.th promotes knowledge management processes such as knowiedge sharing, knowledge protiling, knowledge repository creation Community of Practices (CoPs) development, knowledge mapping, and knowledge discovery. The sarvices of Researchers.in.th are well rectived from its target users. |
