Description
Summary:Mud problem in Porong, Sidoarjo since May 29th 2006 is still becomes a complicated problem. Until the end of 2006, the cost spents in this case approximately 1500 billion rupiah. In 2008, legislative (DPR) given statement that Lapindo's case is a national disaster. By the way, as engineer, we have to find out appropriate solution for this problem. An option to solve this problem is sent mud to the sea through pipe. It needs special pump. Archimedean screw pump is an alternative. In this final project, I am going to find out the characteristic of hydraulic mover and horizontal screw pump performance. This scope of final project covered experiment to find out characteristic of hydraulic mover and horizontal screw pump performance. Beside that, FLUENT 6.3 analyses are used to. The steps are gathering information from textbook like Incompressible Flow, Turbo machinery, Fundamentals of Fluids Mechanics, paper and website. discussion with lecturer, do experiment in Fluids Laboratory and Hydraulics Laboratory, PUSAIR, General Works Ministry. Result from this final project are characteristic curve of 100cc hydraulic mover in varies rpm, characteristics curve of horizontal screw pump head vs. capacity, pump efficiency vs. capacity, and volumetric efficiency vs. head, FLUENT 6.3 analyses, pressure distribution, velocity vector, density in shaft, screw, and casing, and optimal speed of horizontal screw pump. <br />
