Description
Summary:Quality control for soft drink filling process is necessary to prevent products defect i.e. the volume of soft drink in its packages. Control chart which is one of tools of Statistical Process Control (SPC) is usually use to control the process to prefent the defect. However the control of the process can not be made in a realtime fashion. There is a need to design a quality control system which allow the realtime control of the process. Automated quality control process that integrate quality control area with production area will make a realtime control possible. The automated system is constructed using microcontroller TTL 89C52 type which have three timer and serial communication RS 232 as an interface. The information from the process will be transferred in realtime using relays to a control system. The control system consist of three lamps that are : green, yellow, and red which place at shop floor and allow an automatic process shut down if the process is out of control. Software was build using Visual Basic to appearing control chart at computer screen and follow Westgard Multirules to identify the out-of-control condition and pattern identification using Artificial Neural Network (ANN). A separator mechanism would be activated in a fixed interval time to collect sample. Conveyor mechanism model is also design to determine effective length from separator to sensor. This Prototype was tested in laboratory and work satisfactory but further industrial setting experiment is required.
