Summary: | A project can be divided into smaller works with dependencies among those works. The Critical Path Method (CPM) has been widely used to obtain a project schedule which has the earliest finish time in order to minimize the cost.

However, CPM which only calculates two factors, i.e. work duration and work dependencies, is no longer sufficient nowadays. In a particular project, it may happen that two or more works are handled only by one resource at the same time (this event would then be called the R factor). Additionally, there might be ineffective interval periods between two or more works that are handled by a particular resource.

This Final Project gives explanation about CPM concerning the R factor, this method will be further called CPMR. We will discuss the definition of CPMR, the steps inside CPMR, the algorithm of CPMR, and an example of application of CPMR. |
