Summary: | As part of the process of producing oil and natural gas, yielded also large quantities of water known as produced water. It may impact the marine environment if it is discharged to the sea. Produced water after through oil and natural gas production can contain the chemicals, such as Oil and Grease, Phenol, Heavy Metal, Benzene, Toluene and Xylene (BTX). With chemical compound which have the character of toxic will give the impact very endangering at water environment with there are of poisonous materials concentration in water and level enchain the environment food. For a complex sea environment, the dispersion of pollutant is simulated by using computer program (numerical model).
Numerical model for dispersion water quality was usually divided into two spreading area, that is: nearfield and farfield. Nearfield is spreading phenomenon pollutant area near at outfall which influenced by momentum and buoyancy from pollutant. Farfield area where influence of ambient characteristic of advection and diffusion mechanism more dominant. And for this thesis will be used 3D Hydrodynamics and Water Quality model for farfield area.
