Summary: | Physics is one subject that is not very popular among high school students due to various reasons, such as poor quality of teachers and lack of learning facilities. This is reflected in low interest in studying physics to the point that students consider physics as an academic burden. This condition leads to misconception in some physics concepts and poor students' achievement. On the other hand, mastery of physics is a requirement for majoring in science and passing the national examination. Physics is also an important component in technology development. A computer-based multimedia tool might improve students' mastery in physics. Such tool called MAMBRUK has been developed to help the students in understanding the concept of linear momentum. MAMBRUK was developed through compilation of movies, animations, simulations, and problems related to linear momentum. This stand alone tool is packaged in a compact-disc that could be run in a simple personal computer both at school as well as at home. MAMBRUK has been tried at two different high schools representing well-equipped and poorly-equipped schools. The results show that in both schools, students' mastery in the topics has increased significantly. Compared to the existing multimedia tools, MAMBRUK have more complete features including a guided tour to fundamental concepts and problems set to test students' mastery. <br />
