One of EOR processes is Steam Flood, which is a process of injecting the steam into reservoir. During this process, however, we sometime obtain as un-optimal production of oil. This is predicted due to the present of bottom water, that is a layer of water appears at the bottom part of the oil layer. An un-optimal production of oil is indicated by the facet that the water reach a production well before oil. In this final project, we derive a model that gives us the information about this situation. The situation can be considered as a problem of stability of two fluids in which steam is injected along the upper fluid. In this model, we use free-rigid surface boundary. The stability is represented by so called Rayleigh Number. For a given Rayleigh Number, we obtain a maximum flow rate of oil and maximum temperature. text |
