In a group of syringe users, spreading of HIV mostly is caused by using syringe by turns. In this writing, we model the epidemic dynamics of AIDS in a population of syringe users with constant incubation period. Afterwards we will look for factors that influence the spreading of virus. With this model, we will see the efectivity of syringe distribution and methadone therapy to prevent the spreading of virus HIV/AIDS in this group. The incubation period of this disease is various in different individual. This period evolves from six until ten years, depends on immunity systems for each individu. Sometimes there is patient of HIV who will not become AIDS until his death (unbounded incubation period). Therefore in the next chapter, the discussion is focussed on the transmition process of HIV into AIDS with non-constant incubation period. The data of AIDS in Bandung will be used to estimate the parameter in the incubation period. The other approach is if the incubation periode modeled as a probability density function, then the number of newly cases of AIDS can be estimated. It will be simulated using probability density function : Gauss and Gamma distribution function. text |
