Summary:Increasingly tight competition among companies requires companies to apply technology and innovative strategies to win the competition in today's global era. One strategy that can be taken by the company is outsourcing of functions that are not the company's core competencies. Logistics is one of the non-core business activities that can be outsourced out. It's just that the decision to outsource the logistics function or not should be carefully evaluated so that companies can achieve the desired objectives without disrupting the function of its core business could even be used as a competitive advantage for companies.<p>The variables used in the study came from the literature related to logistics outsourcing. This study uses factor analysis method and analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Respondents of this study consisted of 32 respondents from 28 different companies have to outsource logistics.<p>Based on the results of factor analysis known that the factors that influence logistics outsourcing decision-making are capabilities and the cost, operational logistics, resource efficiency and business strategy. While based on AHP is known that the factors which influence the outsourcing decision is financial, strategy, resources, service quality and management.<p>Factors that influence the selection of logistics outsourcing services provider based on a factor analysis are the performance of service providers, operational performance of providers, storage capability of providers, price and experience of providers, and provider management capabilities. While based on AHP is the provider's performance, operational providers, facility providers, provider management, human resources and relationsbackground providers.
