The Expansion was aimed to anticipate the incremental production increase at Grasberg Open Pit Mine in 2008, 2013 and 2014 due to high cut-off grades and also from U/G mine that increase its production to be 80 thousand tons per day. This project was aimed to anticipate the decrease in production due to hard rock types as well.<p>The role of project management performing to manage limited resources effectively and efficiently to achieve the established target is the key of the successful implementation of those projects. PT Z, established in 1972, still meets the problems in managing its projects. It results in delay of project completion.<p>This Final Project is trying to analyze the project completion delay along with the recommendation of system and procedure to handle it. The research methodology applied is the Five-Stage Problem Solving Process (PSP). PSP is the structurally approach which is describe the problem from the beginning until the implementation of recommendation. The study of this problem include the identification, analysis and the problem solving of the project controlling system and procedure aspect.<p>The things that makes the project completion delay are The limitation and qualification of personil involved; Unclear project priority, organization, system and the procedure of the poject controlling; the limitation of the equipment; material lost and the steel fabrication arrive is not match with Construction sequence.<p>The suggested solutions will include project organization, project priority, project staffing and system & procedure of project planning and controlling. The suggested solutions supported by implementation plan, monitoring plan and management commitment are expected to overcome those problems with the result that project's and company's objective will be accomplished. text |
