Description
Summary:Collaboration involving companies becomes an alternative to minimize cost and improve the flexibility. Multi-plant assembly planning is one of colaborative processes. Components or sub-assemblies may be distributed, produced and assembled at various plants, so evaluation of assembly location has became an important issue in multi-plant assembly planning. Despite of manufacturingprocess-related cost , various geographical locations make transportation cost have to be concerned as well. Assembly location generation of subassemblies and final product are required in present model. It makes model to avoid generating an optimal solution in several conditions. Route selection on transportation problem is embedded in developed model. Integer zero-one programing is used to solve the evaluation of assembly location optimization. Improved model can eliminate previous model disadvantages and generate better solution.
