Description
Summary:Every actuator is subject to saturation because of its limitation. Actuator saturation is a condition when the system works in non-linear region. This phenomenon is known as windup effect that may cause the degradation of system performance. However, using a controller that calculates saturation effect when the windup effect occurs would compensates the degradation of system s performance in terms of overshoot, rise time and settling time. PI anti-windup controller will be implemented in dsPIC30F4011 to control the speed of dc motor plant and the result of the implementation will be compared with the simulation in discrete domain to validate the implementation. The implementation shows that the output from the dc motor is the same as the output obtain from discrete time simulation. It is also shown that the dc motor output is more tolerant to saturation problem on its output, and the whole system is proven to be stable.
