The analysis shows that the rms value of input current ripple is not influenced by the shape of the reference signal and switching frequency. At the same switching frequency, optimum reference modulating signal that produces a minimum input voltage ripple under sinusoidal load emf is pure sinusoidal modulating signal. It is also found that at the same switching losses, the discontinues PWM results a lower input voltage ripple when the modulation index is high. Experimental results are also presented to show the validity of the proposed analysis method. text |
