Discovering the idea, capturing the exsisting opportunity, expanding the idea into something commercial, conducting concept testing stage, launching the final products, and delivering the evaluation result have to be well considered and well organized.<p>With example of XYZ Barbeque & Grill, a new resto-cafe with South American grilled concept, for the case study, the author tries to discover new service to be implemented in the company that may be able to increase the sales.<p>New development structures utilize different types of analysis, firstly is business situation analysis, such as 5C's, STP, and SWOT analysis to calculate degree of competitiveness and company capability. Secondly, using 5Ds analysis (Discover, Define, Design, Deliver and Debug) to determine new product or service that suits company's competency and meets customers' needs. Final stage is the implementation plan.<p>Outdoor Barbeque was created as XYZ's new service based on customers' preferences. XYZ's Outdoor Barbeque is a gathering package where customers can experience self service barbeque that will be able to increase the number of customers and customers retention to re-visit XYZ. XYZ's Outdoor Barbeque can also be XYZ's leading product that help the company build its brand.<p>In conclusion, targeting is an important phase in new product or service development and arranging marketing efforts. Product or service innovation is also essential for XYZ to create competitive advantage. text
