PHYSICS EXPERMENTS AS A TOOL OF PHYSICS CONCEPT UNDERSTANDING AND SELF EXPLORATION UPON SMP AND MTs STUDENTS

This research is aimed to construct simple physics instruments, to make an operational instruction module similar to Science Fair Project, and to verify an agreement between experiment results and physics concept. This research uses method of experiment and literature study. Twenty simple physics in...

This research uses method of experiment and literature study. Twenty simple physics instruments are constructed trough a stage of selection and design. The instruments are classified into four topics, i.e. Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Wave and Optics, Electricity and Magnetism. In addition to that, a book similar to Science Fair Projects completed with their application in daily life is made. Test of instruments and data collecting are performed to verify their agreements with the physics concepts. Most experiments are quantitatively analyzed and few are qualitatively explained. It is concluded that the physics concepts are able to be explained by use of those simple physics instruments. text
