Description
Summary:The preconcentration step is a step that cannot be ignored from trace analysis method. Cadmium present in environment at trace level concentration with very complex matrix. An analytical methods which included a preconcentration step is needed to solve this problem. In this research, preconcentration technique based on Flow Injection Analysis (FIA) with chelating resin polystyrene divinilbenzene1-(2-Pyridylazo)-2-naphtol (PSDVB-PAN) was developed and evaluated. This chelating resin was synthesized and characterized that had retention to metal ion Cd(II). It is found that the resin's capacity of retention is 0.58 mg Cd(II)/g resin at optimum pH 6.5 by minimum contact time 15 minutes. The used of resin as a preconcentration column material in FIA technique showed good analytical performance. Precision value reached 1.79% KV for concentration 50 ppb. This method also shows a linearity at concentration rate 10-125 ppb (R2=0.993) with sensitivity 0.6 ppb and detection limit 1.5 ppb. Based on this research, the test of Citarum's water is giving result ion Cd(II) concentration 22 ppb with recovery percent 97.74%. <br />
