Description
Summary:Making concrete mixture with high quality in the filed is difficult, because many factors influence the process and lack of quality control. Projects which need a lot of concrete in their constructions are considered inefficient in mixing the concrete on the site. Further more it is difficult to control the quality. Ready mix concrete made in a factory with tight quality control is an alternative to solve the above problem. This thesis discusses a case study of optimization of ready mix concrete production and application by observing the need of ready mix concrete of each distribution area, capacity of each batching plant, and transportation cost from each plant to every distribution area by offering competitive rate by using linear program method. From the result of the case study of optimization of ready mix concrete production, it can be seen that the total production cost for a certain region, is determined by production cost and transportation cost to the region. Although production cost is more expensive and resulted in the high price of the concrete mixture, the total of production cost and transportation cost determine where the optimum region should be supplied by the ready mix concrete. The mathematical model of this ready mix concrete cost production can be used by ready mix concrete factory in preparing its cost production by using optimum sale forecasting to be able to determine the amount of quality concrete appropriate with the distribution area needed; so that production cost and competitive rate could be obtained.
