The purpose of this research is to examine the ability of the spectrum comparison method in estimating Q-factor, using synthetic VSP data. From the synthetic VSP data that have been processed, we obtain QP value as big as 50.5 at 215-460 m depth interval, agreed with the Q input provided. The experiment to observe the effect of certain width of median filter that can be used to separate downgoing-P wave event toward the reliability of Q estimation was also carried out in this final project. |
